I’m so excited for my very first GIVEAWAY!!!  I was approached  by the very talented and lovely Tracy Ross of “Shabby Lane Boutique” to take some images with the darling hair accessories that she sells!  Her accessories are to die for!!  You can tell that they are made with love.  Every detail to perfection.  I was so excited to get my headbands in the mail!!  I could hardly wait to use them but I had a string of newborn BOYS!!!  Although a couple moms were willing to “pimp” out their babes we all decided that the dads wouldn’t be quite down with that.  So the baby call was announed and low and behold I found the most sweetest little girl!  We ended up kinda being related…….a ways down the line.  But none the less, these headbands looked wonderful on this VERY, VERY alert wee one.  Although she absolutely wouldn’t sleep at all, I ended up with some great shots!  Thank you to little Miss “S” for being such a cute model.

Now, lets get to know the wonderful women behind these great creations!

How long have you been selling your headbands and hair accessories?

I began selling headbands a year and a half ago…started out as ‘lil’ sweet pea’.  Changed things up this April with a new name and look! Things tend to be a bit more “shabby” these days (grin).

What made you decide to start selling them?

I started making up headbands shortly after my daughter, Sydney was born in July 2008.  Made a few for her, people started asking about them, found there was a bit of a demand for all-things girly, and so began my little hobby at home.

Do you have a full time job too?

I am currently on maternity leave with our second child, Hudson…yup, a boy. He tends to give me  ’the look’ when he sees me approaching with another headband to try on. Heehee (I really should be taking some pictures! or is that TOO mean??!).  Once my leave is up this fall,  I will be returning to my job as a public health nurse. Can’t get enough of them little babes (sigh).

What is your favourite thing to do?

Besides chasing my kidlets around??!! My fave thing to do would probably be spending a hot afternoon floating on Kootenay Lake in BC…August can’t come soon enough!

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know about you.

Wow. this is a hard one! Maybe that I grew up in corn town, aka Taber, Alberta. I am a small town girl and will probably always be (as long as I am able to still get my shopping trips into the city…I’m good!). We currently live on an acreage outside of Whitecourt, AB.

What is your favourite movie and why?

I don’t think I have a favourite movie (is that crazy?!).  Guess it depends on the day, but sometimes a gal just needs a good cry like ‘The Notebook’, or a sweet chick flick like ‘ How to lose a guy in 10 days’ , or a recent fave ‘It’s Complicated’.

Here are the images I took of little miss “S” with the headbands.

Aren’t these headbands amazing?!!!
